Competitive Dance Team

Are you interested in joining the TDA Competitive Team?

We host competitive team auditions each summer in June, at these auditions we will evaluate if competitive dance is the right choice for your dancer. It is recommended, but not necessary, that your dancer have experience in multiple styles. If you are interested in joining our team send us an email and we would love to chat!

Why Competitive Dance is good for your child:

Competitive dance offers children numerous benefits beyond enhancing their dance skills. It fosters positive teamwork, discipline, empathy, and the ability to support others. Through the challenges of competition, children learn emotional maturity, conflict resolution, and the importance of inclusivity and camaraderie. These experiences not only strengthen their character but also prepare them to become compassionate, considerate individuals who can thrive both on and off the dance floor. Joining a competitive dance team nurtures skills that contribute to lifelong personal growth and a deep sense of empathy and understanding for others.

Welcome to the Competitive Dance Team at Taylor’s Dance Academy!

For the dancer who loves to perform, the competitive dance program provides an opportunity to learn, and advance their skills and technique becoming well rounded dancers, to showcase, and compete their dancing.

Team activities include competing in dance competitions, performing in the Taylor’s Dance Academy annual Showcase, annual recital, and performing at other venues during the year; in addition to team bonding experiences such as team rehearsals, team dinners and team building days.

Being part of the Competitive team requires a higher level of commitment, for both the dancer and the parents. We have a set of policies necessary for a smooth and productive year. It is of the utmost importance that each dancer and guardian read and understand the agreement before making a decision to participate on the TDA Competitive Team.

Please make all family members aware of our policies to avoid conflicts during the year. This includes anyone who may drive the dancer to and from practices/performances, pay for tuition/fees, or attend performance events.
