Taylor’s Dance Academy Team Scores Big at Shine Dance Competition
At the recent Shine Dance Competition held in at the Chatham Capitol Theatre on March 26 to 29, 2026, Taylor’s Dance Academy (TDA) competitive team received top marks from judges. The team from Blenheim presented a total of 36 dances of which 11 dances received a top Diamond score, 22 dances received a Platinum score, and three received a High Gold score.
“I am extremely proud of my students. They have put in hard work, dedication, and so much heart into their dances and these results are proof that they have learned so much,” said Taylor Nethery, Owner/Director of Taylor’s Dance Academy. “More than just the awards they have received, the group has so much fun together. They are learning skills that go beyond dance and will be with them for the rest of their life.”
Some the highlights for the TDA team include a Judges Choice Award along with a collection of special awards for categories including Serious Suspense, Dream Team, Expressive Excellence, Dynamic Duo, Together and One, and From the Heart.
“We have dancers of all ages and abilities on our team, including an entire adult troop that received a 2nd Overall Adult award for their Battle of the Bands dance,” said Nethery. “It has been my goal to make dance approachable for everyone and to have a studio that embraces the dreams of all dancers. This is why we attract people from all over to come to Blenheim.”

In addition to winning big at the Shine Dance Competition, TDA also received over 34 top placements at the recent Dance Rage Competition including a Studio Spirit Award.
